With the continued growth of social media platforms, many people are taking the initiative to raise awareness about mental illnesses and disorders, such as attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). For example, as of May 2022, TikTok has received 11.4 billion views on ADHD-related content. Studies have shown that social media promotes mental health awareness, but there is little research investigating whether social media content prevents or worsens mental health stigma, particularly toward ADHD.
